Welcoming 400+ Meet the world kids Former Chelsea FC goalkeeper and Swedish national team goalie Zećira Mušović teamed up with us to celebrate a week of football this summer. Zećira welcomed the 400+ kids we brought to Sweden through our Meet the World initiative at the school where they stayed, in Gothenburg, Sweden, and was interviewed at the SKF Arena, where she  also nominated "most valuable player" in one of the matches. Missed the Euros, made it to Gothia   Mušović, who was awaiting her first child this summer, shared her own experiences from Gothia cup, what it was like growing up as a girl who loved football, and her journey from local team to Swedish national team and Chelsea FC. A true inspiration to the kids, who got a glimpse of where believing in your own dreams, can get you. Plus a tad of competitive spirit and love for the game.

“I visited Gotha Cup this year, because I love the whole experience - when you're a young kid dreaming big, starting off your football journey. My ambition when I met the kids, was for them to see someone who's made their way to their dream. When I was their age, I wanted to become one of the best, I wanted to play for a big team. And here I am, living my dream” – Zećira Mušović. “I believe sport is the most powerful tool in society, to bring people together. In every team I've played, there's been so many different cultures and languages and people not understanding each other. But once we step on that field and start playing football, we're talking the same language.” It’s about more than football. As Zećira grew up, she was really competitive. She hated to lose. But along the way, she learnt that the most important thing, at the core of everything, is to have fun.  And when you have fun, you develop the most. More than anything, she thinks to be curious and get to know people from all over the world, is what Gothia Cup is all about. It's not just about football. Football is the tool that gather people. But even cooler than playing football, is to experience different cultures and get to know each other.

My earliest memories are about joy. And the love for the game. Getting to know all the friends, teammates and creating memories with them, always been my favorite part of the story, regardless of which level I'm playing at or which club I'm in. It's always about the people. Less friction, more celebration Zećira Mušović teamed up with SKF because of a shared vision of how sport can fight friction. She think sport fights frictions between cultures and people in a really natural way. The love for the game unites people, and when we realize that we have to work together, that unites people. As Zećira puts it “it's a really beautiful, simple and natural way of of taking away friction between people”.
