The annual EcoVadis rating assesses companies on the quality of their sustainability management, focusing on four core themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The improvement from a gold rating (81 out of 100 points) in the previous year to a platinum rating (87 out of 100 points) in 2026 puts the Motion Technology Company among the top 1 percent of the 150,000 companies evaluated by EcoVadis worldwide. It sends out a strong message about the progress we have made together, reinforces Schaeffler’s credibility with customers, partners and further stakeholders, and demonstrates the strategic embedding of sustainability in the company.” Improvement across all relevant rating criteria In this current rating, Schaeffler improved its score in all relevant areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The key drivers of this improvement included stronger environmental performance and transparency – supported by enhanced climate and Scope 3 reporting and broader evidence of environmental initiatives – as well as documented measures in labor and human rights, including employee-related programs, health and safety, working conditions, and diversity. An improved governance, ethics and compliance management system, together with progress in implementing sustainable procurement practices, also contributed to the higher rating. Schaeffler views sustainability as a holistic, company-wide priority, and assumes ecological and social responsibility across its entire value chain. In strict alignment with the three ESG dimensions – environment, social and governance – the company continues to develop and refine its sustainability strategy.
