Timken Solving the Mysteries of the Cosmos

Hubble is a survivor. Withstanding the intense forces of a rocket launch and the rigors of orbiting earth for almost three decades, this telescope continues to capture images as far as 15 billion light-years away.
In 1990 our bearings helped launch and guide Discovery, the space shuttle that transported and deployed Hubble, and in 2009, astronauts used specialized tools—equipped with Timken® thin section precision ball bearings—to repair and improve the telescope. Experts estimated the overhaul would give Hubble another six years of life. It’s still going strong.
Need mission-critical precision bearings that last?
