NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) will exhibit at the “AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPOSITION 2026 YOKOHAMA,” to be held at PACIFICO Yokohama from May 27 to 29, 2026. In the automotive market, where the development and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) continue to accelerate, NTN will exhibit under the theme of “‘NAMERAKA Technology’ for Future Mobility.” Through exhibits centered on its proprietary technologies refined over many years, NTN will showcase solutions to address a wide range of emerging needs. At the booth, NTN will present its “Nameraka” technologies that address increasingly diverse customer needs, including improved energy efficiency and enhanced reliability, through products and technologies such as Low Friction Hub Bearings, electrical pitting-resistant bearings, and a ball screw drive module for electric brake systems. NTN will exhibit an improved version of its “Low Friction Hub Bearing” series, which further enhances its world-class*1 low friction performance. By adopting a newly developed seal, this product significantly reduces rotational friction, achieving approximately a 66% reduction compared to conventional products*2. When applied to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), this improvement is expected to enhance energy efficiency by 0.76% and extend the cruising distance by approximately 2.2 km per charge*3. Visitors will also be able to experience the effects of reduced friction through an interactive display. In particular, electrical pitting, which causes internal bearing damage due to electric current, has become a critical technical challenge in the era of electrification. NTN offers a lineup of electrical pitting-resistant bearings for e-Axles with increasing operating voltages, suited to various applications, to address electrical pitting. At the booth, NTN will feature the “Resin Mold Insulated Bearing,” which suppresses electrical pitting through high insulation performance with a withstand voltage of 1,000 V or more, along with optimal bearing solutions designed to address electrical pitting under increasingly diverse operating conditions. Brake systems are required to achieve higher responsiveness, controllability, and reliability. Ball screws have been widely adopted in electric brake systems, including electric hydraulic brakes and electric mechanical brakes (EMBs), due to their high positioning accuracy. They are expected to contribute not only to brake systems in the era of electrification, but also to expansion into other applications. At the booth, NTN will showcase ball screw products as key components that convert motor-driven rotational motion into highly accurate linear motion. Application examples, including hands-on demonstration models, will also be presented.
